Applications for the John Fries Award 2015 will open 12 January and close 19 February.
In previous years, the John Fries Award Call for Entries has closed in early May. This year, we’re running the entry process earlier to allow additional time for the selected finalists to work with the guest curator to identify and/or develop suitable work for the exhibition.
In 2015, entrants will be required to submit a portfolio of up to ten works that demonstrate a current commitment to developing a professional art practice. The John Fries Award aims to encompass the multiplicity of contemporary practice amongst emerging and early career artists of all ages and disciplines from Australian and New Zealand.
Artists working in all mediums are welcome to apply; including but not limited to sculpture, performance, new media, photography, painting, drawing, installation, ceramic, object based, hybrid practices, sound based and conceptual works.
Full details and terms and conditions of the John Fries Award 2015 will be available from the John Fries Award page from 9am EST on Monday, 12 January 2015.
